The Chicago Transit Authority, known as the CTA is the operator of Bus and Subways in the City of Chicago, Illinois. The CTA is the second largest transit system in the United States. The CTA started operations In October of 1947, combining the Chicago Rapid Transit Company and the Chicago Surface Lines streetcar system.
