The Seattle Streetcar (also known as the South Lake Union Trolley) is a 1.3 mile long line connecting the South Lake Union area of Seattle with the Westlake "HUB". More information can be found on www.seattlestreetcar.com. The line opened December 12, 2007 and will be funded and operated by King County Metro transit, who has in the past operated the George Benson Waterfront Streetcar, which is currently suspended and will operate Sound Transit's Central LINK light rail. Construction of the line was paid for by a Local Improvement District and city funds. The line has 3 Inkeon TRIO cars built in 2007, similar to the two units bought by the Portland Streetcar.
