in 1993 Tri-Met bought 7 Flxible Metro's fueled by LNG as an experiment. They were model 40102-6C with a modified Cummins L10 and Voith D863-W7 transmission. They were based out of Center Garage and ultimately retired and scrapped around 2003 when LNG fuel pumps were no longer available for them. The were fueled offsite of center garage at a PGE facility nearby. These coaches were also the only Flxible Metro's that tri-Met had with Air conditioning. These buses were in Tri-Met's fleet 43, were also equipped with wheelchair lifts and had seating for 43.
