Yakima Valley Transit Co. was the former streetcar operator for the city of Yakima. Passenger service ended on February 1, 1947 and In October 1974 tourest passenger service resumed with the acquisition of two single truck streetcars from Oporto, Portugul. Freight service ended on the YVT in 1984 with the city acquiring the property in 1985. Tourist passenger service is now ran on the line on a regular basis by the Yakima Valley Trolleys group.
